Everyday Make Up

This post is mainly aimed at my make up for work throughout the week, then on weekends I like to mix it up a little and play with different products. I try to keep my every day make up as affordable as possible as I use these products a lot so they are easier to replace. I find that my make up for work is pretty minimal, to some it may seem like a lot, however it is definitely minimal to me without my lashes, eyeshadow and lippy!

Sleek Barekissed Illuminator - I like to start off my base using one of the Sleek liquid illuminators in the shade ‘Monaco’. I use this under my BB cream to give my face a glow. I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, down my nose, and above my eyebrows.

Garnier BB cream ‘Combination to oily skin’ - I use this BB cream every day without a doubt. I previously used the original version and did like it as it was very lightweight (for work I prefer this to a heavy foundation) however when I tried the oil free one I found it had that little bit more coverage I was after. This is now a must in my everyday make up routine and affordable so a winner all round!

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer - Firstly, lets start by saying this concealer is amaaaaazing! When I first used it I couldn’t believe I hadn’t tried it sooner! I use this to highlight and brighten under my eyes, down my nose, centre of my forehead and on my chin. This honestly works so perfectly for brightening especially under your eyes and it provides the perfect amount for coverage. I love that this concealer isn’t cakey at all or too heavy and it blends out beautifully, I always use a beauty blender to blend this out.

Rimmel Stay Powder - I have used this powder for many years because it just works so well. Its affordable and does exactly what I want it to do. I use this everyday to set my whole face and It always sets my make up perfectly without being cakey and giving you that over the top powder look.  I find its such a lightweight powder but still keeps my base set throughout the day.

Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim - Unfortunately I wasn’t blessed with the longest, perfectly curled lashes, in fact some days I wonder if theres any there at all. I find that by wearing winged eyeliner this helps. This Loreal liner is really good, its so slim and easy to use so for anyone like me who’s not exactly the queen of winged liner but loves a wing this is definitely one to try!

Benefit Roller Lash - I couldn’t not throw this into my everyday make up routine because it’s honestly the best mascara i’ve come across to date. I actually haven’t been using very it long at all, before this one I was using the ‘Benefit They’re Real’ mascara which is also very good I just personally prefer ‘Roller Lash’. As mentioned when talking about winged liner, I don't have the best lashes and mascara’s don't ever really make much of a difference to them which is sad because I looooove long lashes! This is the only mascara I’ve found so far that manages to give them a slight curl and some volume and the brush is very small making it easier for application.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade I can’t help but use this pomade every day because it’s just the best product i’ve ever found for brows and I love the finish of this so much more to powders. Now and again i’ll use my trusty Tanya Burr brows palette but since using this pomade for the first time I struggle to pick up anything else for my brows! When I first got this I was a little worried about how easy it would be to use but its honestly so simple, it goes on so easily and blends out really well. You can use a light hand for a more natural brow or build it up. I use a mac 266 brush and it works perfectly.

Mac Give Me Sun Bronzer - This was the first high end bronzer I ever purchased and its an old favourite! Its just the perfect bronzer for warming up your face and giving you that sun-kissed glow everyone desires! I do switch up my bronzers now and again through the week and sometimes go for the bronzer in one of my Tanya Burr palettes and I can’t help but sometimes use a bit of NARS Laguna my favourite bronzer of all time.

Sleek Face Form Palette and Sleek Solstice Highlight Palette - Now yes I am one of them girls who loves highlight, I think most of us make up lovers do! For me, the most satisfying part of doing my make up is applying my highlight and then staring at my cheekbones in my mirror thinking ‘oooo that glow’, I think my boyfriend is bored of hearing ‘look at my highlight’ and having to stare at my cheekbones. Sleek make up is by far one of my favourite drugstore brands. Their make up is such good quality for the price! The face form palette is now a must in my collection because it offers three incredible products in one and they all work amazingly. On work days I only really use the highlight and sometimes use the blush but the contour is a perfect shade and I regularly use this on weekends. The Solstice Palette is one of the best make up products I've ever purchased, the highlighters are amazing and the pigmentation of them is crazy.

This sums up my every day make up products and I find they all work really well for me, plus the majority of them are affordable which is a bonus! I'm always on the hunt for new products and love hearing about other people's make up favourites so do leave recommendations if you have any!

Belly Boos Sweet Shop

Whilst away last week visiting Norfolk we ended up in a lovely little seaside town on the outskirts of Great Yarmouth called Gorleston. This place was beautiful but this blog post is purely to talk about an amaaaaazing sweet shop we discovered!

So when browsing Instagram looking at Gorleston before deciding to take a trip there pictures kept appearing on my feed of these delicious looking milkshakes stacked with all sorts of goodies. Now me and Karl being proper foodies had to check this place out whilst being up this way... it was only right.

Belly Boos was part sweet shop, part milkshake parlour serving milkshakes (obviously), ice creams, hot chocolates, coffees, donuts and more! The sweet shop side of it definitely had an american influence with all sorts of sweets and chocolate. The seating area side served all the drinks and snacks however they could also be made for taking away. We had definitely decided we wanted one of their amazing milkshake creations and the menu had so many wonderful choices, but this is also a major problem for me being someone who can never make their mind up! After staring at the same menu, and the same Instagram pics for inspiration I finally made my mind up and went for the 'Big Reeses'.

This milkshake was sooo good. It was served in a cute jar topped with whipped cream, Reeses Pieces, Reeses Buttercups and Reeses wafer bars, and it was drizzled in chocolate sauce. The milkshake itself had a delicious peanut butter taste to it with pieces of nuts in it. It was honestly lush. Karl went for the 'Apple Spice' milkshake and oh my god his looked incredible.. unfortunately I didn't get a picture that did his justice but trust me if you love apple pie and cinnamon you would love this!

Ok.. so because we loved this place so much we returned the next day! It was our last day and we desperately wanted to try just one more before going home because there was so many amazing flavours! (Diet starts now)

I went for the 'Strawberry Spectacular' which is the kinda milkshake you just look at and think 'wow'. This milkshake was topped with whipped cream, a ring donut covered in strawberry icing and coloured sprinkles, strawberry millions sweets, and drizzled in strawberry sauce. They also slotted a packet of popping candy into the top and tied a strawberry lace around the handle of the jar which I thought was such a lovely touch and you could see the effort they had put into all their creations. Oh and the strawberry milkshake itself tasted fabulous!

This place certainly did not disappoint.. everything was perfect including the wonderful service, they were all very friendly! I couldn't recommend this place enough if you're ever up this way and have a proper sweet tooth or love a milkshake!

Norfolk

So last week I visited Norfolk for the week with family and my boyfriend. Its safe to say this break was well and truly needed. It was so lovely to just take some time away from everyday life and relax.

On the journey down there we decided to take a few stops and visit some seaside towns. The first being Aldeburgh, this was a very small fishing town. This place was so peaceful and calming. We browsed the very small town looking through the local shops, then just took some time to sit on the beach and chill before setting off again, although I probably could of sat here all day.

The second place we visited was Thorpeness. This was a small village that we stopped at mainly for the boating lake. We decided to hire out a rowing boat for an hour which was both beautiful and amusing, obviously the amusing part was me trying to row which didn't quite go to plan at first but we got there in the end. The lake was the perfect size with gorgeous surroundings.

Half way through our time on the lake the swans decided to come and see us, being extremely gullible and a bit of a wimp when I was told the swans are gonna attack me I flapped a little (ok a lot) but soon realised I was being wound up, we were then able to watch these beautiful swans swimming around our boat.

One of the days we visited a beach my mum told us about called 'Horsey' which was a beautiful beach surrounded by countryside. There was literally nothing but grass, sand, rocks and sea, oh and seals! The main reason we visited this beach was because when my mum discovered this beach they found that this was somewhere seals lived and bred. After walking onto the beach literally within seconds you could see the seals swimming, jumping around and playing in the water. It was so amazing to watch them in their natural habitat. This was the kinda beach you could spend hours on and never get bored because its so lovely to watch the seals playing and looking so content.

Me and karl decided to visit a beach next to Great Yarmouth called Gorleston. This beach was stunning in this summer heat and it felt as though we were abroad. We spent a few hours here chilling, paddling in the sea, being silly writing our names in the sand and of course taking photos!

We ended up staying on this beach till early evening so decided to stay for dinner. We chose a restaurant overlooking the beach called 'Porterhouse'. This was a steak and grill house, and at the time I wanted nothing more than a big, juicy burger! The food here was just amazing and if if you're ever after a proper burger I would 100% recommend this place! There was one more food place we visited in Gorleston but that deserves a whole blog post of its own!

Another restaurant we tried out was Fish and Grill in Great Yarmouth. Me and Karl thoroughly enjoyed this meal. I was desperate for fish and chips but I am the most indecisive person EVER and somehow ended up with chicken kebab so I spent the whole meal feeling sorry for myself seeing how good everyone else's fish and chips looked. This was a very nice place to eat though and it was in a perfect location right on the seafront in-between all the amusements and activities so you don't have very far to go after having a beach day!

Norfolk has a lovely coastline and from a girl that loves the seaside I will definitely be going again. There is a huge amount of choice whether you want somewhere quiet to take some time out and chill or if you want somewhere with a little more going on and plenty to keep you entertained. I had a great week but unfortunately all breaks have to come to an end and for now its back to full time work life!

Thanks for reading.
